With so many options available on what to hang on your home or office wall space, it can sometimes be quite frustrating finding the right artwork for the occasion.

So, do you simply buy a batch of poster art prints and save some money? Or, do you invest in some real original art?

The choice is entirely yours, of course, however, in this post, we'll look at two beneficial reasons why you should consider investing in original art for your home or business.

Let's take a look.

Originality speaks quality

An original canvas painting speaks quality rather than quantity.

What would you prefer to do, add 5 or 6 cheap and cheerful art prints around your business's conference room, or one beautiful, original piece of art?

The same question could be asked about your home or home office.

An original piece of art sends the right message that you, as a business or homeowner, are passionate about the finer things in life, and there's no shame in showing that off.

Displaying original art in a place of business, for example, gives the impression that you are a professional organization and one that takes incredible pride in itself. It shows that you care, as cringe-worthy as that might sound.

Here's a true story:

My wife Samantha and I recently had the pleasure of spending a weekend in Spa retreat in Cornwall, and one of the things that we both really appreciated was the original decor, original sculptures, and especially the original paintings on display.

It certainly gave us a positive impression of the quality of the service we were about to receive, and it was indeed an amazing experience all around.

Sometimes, paying a little extra to the 'attention to detail' really pays off.

Being unique is being memorable

Why just put up any old generic art print on display? Whether it's your home, office, or business.

You can buy cheap and often tacky looking art prints online or even from home and hardware stores if that's what you really want.

However, there's nothing memorable about having the same design and detail as the house next door, or the business down the road.

I remember going into the dentist one morning last November. and then shortly after, popping into my local tyre center to change a worn out tyre.

While I was waiting for a tyre change, I noticed that the wall art print was exactly the same as the one I saw in the dentist waiting room earlier.

I also knew where it came from - From our local home decor and DIY store, as it's a place I often pop into to get emergency art supplies.

Again, there's nothing wrong with saving money and I get that, but at the same time, for me, as a customer, there was nothing unique about my experience of seeing the same wall decor in my dentist and at my local tyre center. Nothing at all.

Investing in an original canvas painting, even just something that will be displayed in a waiting area or a reception area creates a whole new and unique experience for everyone. That's what I think anyway.

A tribute to something meaningful

Often private and corporate collectors will request commissioned artwork from me because they want something meaningful. Something that they can look back on one day and tell folks the reason behind investing in a particular painting.

An original canvas painting can be a tribute to something special and meaningful. It can be a momentum to remember a special occasion, event, or a special individual.

Hey, there's nothing wrong with art prints

Now, I really want to finish off by saying there's nothing wrong with high-quality art prints.

We have a few in our home and in our home office that is unique to us. However, we also have some original art on display that means a lot to us.

So, if you're looking for something truly special, unique, and authentically original, whether it's for your home, office, or business environment, make sure you consider investing in an original canvas painting.
